For the academic year 2024-2025, UBC Undergraduate Scholarships come in two types: the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award and the International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES). The quantity and level of these international scholarships vary annually, contingent on available funding.
The University of British Columbia annually allocates over $20 million to recognize the academic excellence of outstanding students globally, supporting them through awards, scholarships, and financial aid for international undergraduate studies.
The Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is a merit-based, one-time entrance scholarship granted to eligible students upon admission to UBC. Recipients demonstrate academic prowess and active engagement beyond the classroom.
International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) target exceptional international students entering UBC’s undergraduate programs.
