University of British Columbia Undergraduate Scholarships

Great news! The UBC Undergraduate Scholarships are now open. We’ll talk in more depth about these scholarships, their benefits, and how to apply for them step by step in this piece.

Between 2024 and 2025, UBC will offer two types of undergraduate scholarships: the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award and the International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES). Each year, a different number and level of these international scholarships are given out, based on how much money is available.

More than $20 million is given each year to awards, scholarships, and other forms of financial aid for foreign undergraduate students at the University of British Columbia. This is done to recognise the academic excellence of outstanding students from around the world.

When a qualified student is accepted to UBC, the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is given to them as a one-time, merit-based entrance grant.Students who are chosen for this award do well in school and are active in their communities.

foreign Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES) are given to outstanding foreign students who want to start their first year at UBC. Each student gets an IMES when they start their first year at UBC, and they can keep the funding for up to three more years. Each year, the number and value of these grants given out change based on the money that is available.
