Bachelor of Laws

The Bachelor of Laws at Ndejje University is an undergraduate law programme that prepares students to handle core areas such as Legal Methods, Principles of Constitutional Law, Law of Contracts, Criminal law, Administrative Law, Land Law, Family Law, Law of Torts, Evidence Law, and Equity and Trusts. Students also cover Business Ethics, Criminal Procedure, Business Associations, Jurisprudence, Sale of Goods, Environmental Law, Civil Procedure, Revenue Law, and Human Rights, plus optional courses such as Intellectual Property.

Teaching is organised as a structured four-year day programme, with a Research Paper (Dissertation) and Clinical legal education included in the course structure. Learning outcomes focus on advanced legal research, core legal knowledge of substantive and procedural law, advocacy through written briefs and oral presentations, ethical reasoning using professional codes of conduct, drafting legal documents, and proficiency in alternative dispute resolution through mediation, negotiation, and arbitration.

Direct Entry

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with two principal passes in relevant subjects.

Diploma Entry

• Relevant diploma in Law (Upper Second or Credit), recognized by NCHE

Mature Age Entry

• A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination

International Applicants

• Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
• Academic documents must be equated where necessary
• Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
