Bachelor of Science with Education

The Bachelor of Science with Education at Ndejje University prepares science educators by combining scientific concepts in chosen science disciplines with education theory and teaching practice. Students study foundations such as Foundations of Education and Introduction to Psychology, alongside science units including Introductory Biology / Cell Biology, Basic Inorganic Chemistry, Mechanics (Physics), Organic Chemistry, and Electricity & Magnetism.

The program includes teaching-focused modules such as Instructional Methods (Science Teaching Methods I), Teaching Practice I, Measurement & Evaluation, Educational Technology (ICT in Teaching), and School Management & Administration. Students also complete Research Methods in Education, a Research Project, and a Dissertation (Final Report Submission), plus Teaching Practice II. The course is delivered as a Day program with campus: Main.

Graduates are trained to apply evidence-based teaching methods, use scientific inquiry and critical thinking, and create learner-centered classroom environments. The program also includes hands-on teaching experiences and school placements, supporting work in science instruction. Entry is available through Direct Entry, Diploma Entry, Mature Age Entry, and International Applicants.

Direct Entry

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with 1 principal pass in a relevant subject

Diploma Entry

• Relevant diploma in Education or related field (Upper Second or Credit), recognized by NCHE

Mature Age Entry

• A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination

International Applicants

• Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
• Academic documents must be equated where necessary
• Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
