Bachelor of Teacher Technical Education

The Bachelor of Teacher Technical Education at Ndejje University prepares students to teach, train, and mentor learners in technical and vocational institutions. Students build skills in pedagogy, curriculum development, instructional technology, workshop management, educational assessment, and specialized technical subjects. Graduates apply effective teaching methods, integrate technical knowledge with pedagogy, and follow ethical and professional standards in education.

The course covers modules such as Curriculum Instruction and Media, Human Growth, Learning and Assessment, Inclusive Education and Special Needs for Sustainability, Guidance and Counseling in Schools/Institutions, and Educational Administration and Management. It also includes technical and engineering topics like Civil Engineering Profession and Society, Engineering Geology, Principles of Electricity and Thermodynamics, Digital Electronics, and Production Technology II. Learning includes hands-on practical skills training and teaching practice in real training environments.

Direct Entry

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with 2 principal passes in relevant technical or science subjects.

Diploma Entry

• Relevant Diploma in Instructor and Technical Teacher Education (DITTE) or equivalent in a technical field (credit class or higher), recognized by NCHE

Mature Age Entry

• A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination

International Applicants

• Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
• Academic documents must be equated where necessary
• Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
