Diploma in Criminal Justice

The Diploma in Criminal Justice at Nkumba University is a diploma programme that covers the subject area of criminal justice. The programme is structured into semesters, with study organised across a minimum academic year.

The diploma covers a minimum period of 1 academic year, consisting of 2 semesters. A student may take longer where the Examiners’ Board allows a repeat year or a dead year. The diploma must be obtained within a maximum period of 2 academic consecutive years, including any dead year.

Applicants for Diploma programmes should hold:

• A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a minimum of 5 passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
• Uganda Advanced Level Certificate (UACE) with at least one Principal Pass, and 2 subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
• A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study from a recognized institution.
• Any equivalent Certificate besides UCE and UACE from a recognized institution.
