The Graduate Diploma in Education at Nkumba University is a one-year programme that trains participants in teaching of specific areas in professional development. A participant majors in two teaching subjects to enable teaching at the point of specialisation. It is designed for first degree holders who want to join the teaching profession and to build pedagogical skills for quality education.

It also includes School Practice 1 and School Practice 2, alongside comparative education, educational administration, measurements and evaluation, economics of education, and specific teaching methods 1 and 2.
