Master of Medicine in General Surgery

The Master of Medicine in General Surgery at Mbarara University of Science and Technology is a postgraduate surgical training program for qualified doctors. It focuses on the diagnosis, pre-operative, operative, and post-operative management of surgical conditions.

Training emphasizes surgical conditions primarily involving the abdomen, breast, head and neck (excluding ENT and ophthalmologic procedures), soft tissues, endocrine system, and trauma. The program runs full time for 3 years and follows a required employment period after full registration.

An honors degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

Employment as a medical officer for at least two years after full registration is compulsory.
