Bachelor of Arts in International Studies Bais

The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (B.A.I.S) at American University in Dubai helps you critically evaluate international affairs from an interdisciplinary perspective. You study history, political science, economics, anthropology, and sociology, with specializations in International Relations, International Development, or Middle Eastern Studies.

The program is a 124-hour, 4-year degree. It includes International Studies Core (39 credit hours), International Studies Core Languages (16 credit hours), Track Electives (24 credit hours), Arts & Sciences Core (36 credit hours), and General Electives (9 credit hours). You complete a specialization by selecting one of three tracks.

• A high school/secondary school certificate or equivalent from an institution accredited by the Ministry of Education in the U.A.E. or by the relevant national or regional institutional accrediting body;
• International TOEFL®or Academic IELTSTM or the equivalent score on another internationally-recognized English exam. PBT is accepted from specific centers in the UAE;
• The University administers the ACCUPLACERTM Exam (Math) to place students at the appropriate mathematics level. Students may substitute the SAT for this, depending on the score.
