The Master of Science in Applied Chemistry at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research is for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related specialization. Students complete course work and a Master’s Thesis. The program aims to develop knowledge in applied chemistry and research expertise, including instrumentation and methodology, for careers in applied chemistry or to pursue a doctorate degree.
The program is typically four semesters. It is equivalent to 30 credit hours: 12 credit hours of core courses, 9 credit hours of program elective courses, and 9 credit hours for the Master’s Thesis. Full-time graduate students register for 9 to 12 credits in a regular semester, including thesis credits, and students must complete a minimum of 9 credits of core courses before registering for thesis credits. The thesis is defended in a viva voce examination.
