BSc Accounting and Finance

The BSc Accounting and Finance at SOAS University of London teaches you how to analyse financial statements, evaluate investment opportunities, design financial plans, and make strategic decisions across accounting, banking, finance, and investments. You study core and compulsory modules such as Financial Accounting 1, Business Law, Management Accounting 1, Organisational Behaviour, Economic Principles (Macro), and Economic Principles (Micro), plus Principles of Management I: The Origins of the Firm and Principles of Management II: The Evolution of the Modern Organisation.

The programme runs on a full-time, on-campus basis. Students take 120 credits each year, made up of Core, Compulsory, and Optional modules. It also includes a professional placement opportunity organised by the student, with a transfer to the standard programme if a placement is not found. Optional modules support individual module choices alongside core fundamentals.

Subject required: applicants without A level Maths (or equivalent) must have a minimum of grade B in GCSE Maths (grade 6 in the new structure). Applicants with a minimum of Merit in AAT Level 4 Diploma may be considered for direct entry into Year 2 of BSc Accounting and Finance. Applicants are still required to meet the GCSE Maths requirement.
