Diploma in Health Social Care

Runshaw College’s Level 2 Health & Social Care Certificate is for students looking for a career in the caring industry, including roles in care home and youth centres. Students study Human Life Span, Healthy Lifestyles, Communication, Social Influences, Care Values, Health Promotion, Equality & Diversity, and Nutrition, with units linked into social care and health.

The course runs full time for 1 year and includes a mix of classroom delivery formats, enrichment activities, and work experience placements. Assessment uses coursework made from assignments set during the year, plus two external assessment exams. A work placement team arranges placements close to where students live, and students can also find their own.

For our Level 2 Pre-Advanced courses our entry requirements are 4 x GCSEs at Grade 3, Maths or English Language/Literature at Grade 3 and Grade 2 in the other subjects.
