MSc Data Science

The University of Wales, Swansea MSc Data Science provides a grounding in data science concepts and technologies for extracting information and constructing knowledge from data. The course focuses on data mining, machine learning, and visualisation, with study of computational principles, methods, and systems for real-world applications. Teaching includes mining structured and unstructured data, and applying conventional and machine learning techniques.

Students study compulsory modules and then complete a major project module. The programme includes laboratories and a Visualisation Suite, and it is taught in person on campus. Assessment includes Research Methods and a final MSc Project. Entry is for applicants with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), or equivalent background as set out in the entry requirements.
