The MSc Economics at Swansea University gives you a rigorous and comprehensive grounding in modern economic theory, quantitative analysis and applied policy evaluation. You study advanced microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, including how to build and interpret economic models, analyse data, and evaluate real-world policy decisions. Optional modules let you choose topics such as Development Economics, International Macroeconomics, Health Economics and Energy Economics.
Teaching includes advanced lectures, research-focused seminars and specialist computer workshops. The programme includes group projects and presentations, plus masterclasses in small groups on applied problems and case studies. You complete a 60-credit Dissertation and choose 60 credits from optional modules.
The degree is designed for graduates who want to deepen their analytical skills, enhance their career prospects or prepare for further research.

Students must attain a minimum 2:2 (or overseas equivalent) in an economics related undergraduate degree. While a prior degree in Economics is expected, students with a background in a mathematically oriented subject area will be eligible for consideration, such as chemistry, maths, computer science, engineering, physics, finance or statistics.
IELTS 6.0 overall with no component less than 5.5.
