MSc Mathematics and Computing for Finance

University of Wales, Swansea’s MSc in Mathematics and Computing for Finance covers mathematical finance and computing, with modules including Financial Mathematics in Discrete Time, Markov Processes and Applications, Machine Learning, and Risk and Survival Models. Students also study related topics such as Topology, Cashflows and Interest Rates, and Financial Mathematics in Continuous Time.

Mathematics and Computing for Finance is structured in two parts. In the first part, students study a wide range of modules in mathematical finance and related topics. In the second part, students complete a significant dissertation project: Mathematics and Computing for Finance Project. Assessment uses written examinations, coursework, and the dissertation, supported by the main university library and the Reading Room with a departmental library and a suite of computers.

A 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics. Applicants whose first degree is not in mathematics will be considered on an individual basis taking into account the mathematical content of their first degree.

IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent English test.
