Edge Hill University UK GREAT Scholarships (Full Tuition Fee Waiver)

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Edge Hill University is offering £10,000 scholarships to students in Nigeria, Ghana, and Turkey applying for one-year postgraduate courses in any subject. The British Council GREAT Scholarships programme supports postgraduate students from multiple countries in accessing UK higher education opportunities, with financial support of a minimum of £10,000 for one-year postgraduate study in the UK.

The programme is for September intake only and scholarships cannot be deferred. Edge Hill University GREAT Scholarships are available to applicants who have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study a postgraduate taught programme at Edge Hill University for September entry. Eligibility is restricted to only full-time, one-year, postgraduate taught programmes delivered at the Ormskirk campus, and programmes delivered via academic partners (partially or wholly) are not eligible.

Applicants apply by completing the application form after receiving an offer to study at Edge Hill University. Applications are then considered by an awarding panel made up of representatives from Admissions, the International Office team, and the International Student Support Officer. The panel assesses applications based on the responses provided, and shortlisted candidates may be asked to attend a video interview with the selection committee.

Final award recipients and reserve candidates are decided by the panel and are contacted no later than 1 June. Scholarship winners are expected to take part in lectures and tutorials and engage with extra-curricular activities, including activities with the International Office. They are also expected to act as ambassadors for Edge Hill University and UK higher education during their studies and following graduation, maintain contact with the British Council, and share experiences with future GREAT scholars.

• Be a passport holder and resident of Ghana, Nigeria, or Turkey.Have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study a postgraduate taught programme at Edge Hill University for September 2026 entry.Hold a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a 2:1 or higher.Meet the English language requirement for the chosen programme at the time of scholarship application.Be a self-funded student.Not be a recipient of any other scholarship.Only full-time, one-year, postgraduate taught programmes delivered at the Ormskirk campus are eligible.Not eligible if the programme is delivered via academic partners (either partially or wholly).Applicants for Postgraduate Diplomas and Postgraduate Research are not eligible for this award.
