Goldsmiths University of London UK International Response Scholarships

Goldsmiths, University of London describes the Sanctuary Scholarship, formerly called the International Response Scholarship, as support for students who have refugee status in the UK or an active asylum application in the UK.

The award applies to an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths. Applicants must hold an offer of study, study in person, and be eligible to study in the UK. Goldsmiths also says that applicants on Immigration Bail must not have a condition that prevents study, and that Ukrainian applicants seeking refuge in the UK under the Home Office special arrangement will be considered.

Selection is competitive. Goldsmiths first checks eligibility, then forwards eligible applications to an awarding panel. The panel considers academic record and the answers given in the application form, and gives equal weight to both. The panel includes representatives from Admissions, Widening Participation, and the Immigration Advisory Service.

Successful applicants receive support for each year of study. Goldsmiths also states that accommodation in Goldsmiths halls of residence requires a separate application, and applicants must note in the accommodation application that they are applying for the International Response Scholarship.

• Hold an offer of study on an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths.
• Be taught in person; online degrees are not eligible.
• Be eligible to study in the UK.
• If on Immigration Bail, have no condition prohibiting study.
• Ukrainian applicants seeking refuge in the UK under the special arrangement set by the Home Office are considered for this scholarship.

• £8,825 allowance.
• Full tuition fee waiver for each year of study.
• Accommodation fee for a single study bedroom in Goldsmiths halls of residence, up to £200 per week.

2. Upload the supporting documents that demonstrate your refugee or asylum status to your MyGoldsmiths account.
3. If you want to live in Goldsmiths accommodation, make a separate accommodation application.
4. Include a note in the accommodation application stating that you are applying for the International Response Scholarship.
