Inlaks Scholarship , USA (Up to USD 120,000)

Inlaks Scholarships are awarded across a wide range of subjects to young Indian graduates of exceptional talent, character, and motivation, funded by Inlaks. The scholarship enables overseas study at a university or institution of the applicant’s choice across the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States of America. It is described as aiming to broaden the recipient’s vision and improve skills to operate in society.

The scholarship is described as supporting applicants for overseas study across the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States of America. The selection includes assessment of past and present achievements and future potential, with applicants for art and design (fine/performing arts) primarily assessed on their portfolios.

Selection is carried out by an independent Inlaks Selection Committee. The selection process consists of review of eligible applications, online preliminary interviews for candidates chosen from the review, and a final in-person interview in Mumbai for candidates who succeed in the preliminary interview.

The duration of the course can be between nine months and four years. The value depends on the course and covers tuition fees, living expenses, one-way travel, visa costs, and a health allowance, up to USD 120,000.

• Must be an Indian passport holder.
• Must be resident in India at the time of application.
• Must be born on or after 1st January (year omitted to meet formatting constraints).
• Must hold a degree from a recognised university in India.
• If in the final year of graduation and awaiting results, the applicant is eligible to apply.
• If holding an undergraduate degree from a recognised university abroad, the applicant must have resided continuously, been employed, or have been studying in India for at least two years after under graduation.
• Must have prior admission to the institution and course chosen at the time of application; the Foundation will not consider applicants without evidence of admission.
• An applicant may apply with either a conditional or an unconditional offer letter.
• If applying with a conditional offer letter and shortlisted for the final interview, all conditions stated in the offer letter must be fulfilled before the final interview.
• If the offer letter includes English language certification as a conditional part, the applicant must attain that certification before applying.
• If the applicant has received a deferred offer of admission, the applicant must have a valid offer for the academic year required for the scholarship intake.
• For Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, Architecture and related subjects: minimum academic grade 65%, or CGPA 6.8/10, or GPA 2.6/4 from a recognized university/institution.
• For Mathematics, Sciences, Environment and related subjects: minimum academic grade 70%, or CGPA 7.2/10, or GPA 3/4 from a recognized university/institution.
• Exclusion: Applicants having a postgraduate qualification (e.g., Master’s or PhD) from an institution abroad are not eligible.
• Exclusion: Applicants who are already studying or have started postgraduate education at an institution abroad are not eligible.
• Ineligible subjects include: Business and Finance; Computer Science; Engineering; Fashion Design; Film and Film Animation; Hospitality and Tourism; Indian Studies without Contemporary Relevance; Management Studies (i.e. MBA); Medicine, Dentistry, and related therapies; Music.
• Engineering exception: Applications to pursue study Engineering and Natural Sciences at Imperial College, London are considered.
• Film exception: Applications to pursue Documentary filmmaking are considered.
• Music exception: Applications to pursue study in Western Classical singing are considered.
• Age rule: The applicant must be a maximum of 30 years of age at the time of application.
