Overview

Marshal Papworth Fund provides scholarships for students from developing countries to gain agricultural and horticultural skills that support a sustainable future for themselves and their communities. It runs two scholarship programmes: a one-year Masters programme and a 10-week short course.

The Masters programme funds one-year postgraduate courses for students from developing countries on UK-based MSc and MA courses. Marshal Papworth says its legacy wish is that the scholarships favour land-based courses, and it provides a list of supported courses through its universities and colleges.

The 10-week short course is designed for students with a strong hands-on commitment to community and agricultural development. Marshal Papworth says the course is aimed at innovative farmers, community project leaders, or primary school teachers with a keen interest in local agriculture, and it works with in-country organisations to select candidates.

Eligibility

Applicants must be from developing countries.
For the Masters programme, applicants must be seeking a one-year postgraduate MSc or MA course at a UK-based university.
