Northumbria University UK International Postgraduate Scholarship (£3,000 Fee Discount)

Northumbria University offers the Northumbria UK International Scholarship to Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students joining in September or January, awarding a £3,000 fee discount for choosing to study with Northumbria University.

The scholarship is for international students with ‘Overseas’ or ‘EU’ fee status who are currently studying a UK-based Level 6 Undergraduate Degree qualification within the UK. Applicants must be self-funded (not in receipt of any sponsorship) and accepted and enrolled on a Full-Time PGT course at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus.

The UK International Scholarship is applied automatically as a fee discount, so applicants do not need to make a separate application. The University’s decision is final and there is no right of appeal.

The award is provided as a fee discount rather than a cash sum. If you defer your place, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn. Students on an Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters who transfer to a non-Advanced Practice or non-study Abroad route more than four weeks after the start of the course will not be eligible for the International Scholarship.

• Must be an International student with ‘Overseas’ or ‘EU’ fee status
• Must be currently studying one of the following qualifications within the UK, at a UK based institution: A Level 6 Undergraduate Degree
• Must be a self-funded student (not in receipt of any sponsorship)
• Must be accepted and enrolled on a Full-Time Postgraduate Taught course at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus, starting in September 2025 or January 2026
• Must meet all individual course requirements
• Exempt courses include: Any Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters course; Physiotherapy (Pre-Registration) MSc; Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Adult) MSc; Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Child) MSc; Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Mental Health) MSc; Nursing Science Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities) MSc; Midwifery Studies MSc; Social Work MA; Bar, Bar LLM, LLM Professional Legal Practice (SQE1)
• Students on Advanced Practice or Study Abroad Masters who transfer to the non-Advanced Practice or non-study Abroad route more than four weeks after the start of their course are not eligible
• The scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or scholarships
• Current Northumbria University undergraduate students are not eligible (may be eligible for Alumni Discount; terms and conditions apply)
• The scholarship is awarded to Newcastle Upon Tyne campus students only
• Sponsored students are not eligible
• Students progressing from a partner institute where reduced fees and bespoke offers have been agreed are not eligible
• If you defer your place, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn
• Deferral and eligibility rules apply based on the course route described above
