Online MBA Diversity Scholarship at University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh Business School runs the Online MBA Diversity Scholarships for applicants holding an offer for the Online MBA who enhance the diversity of cultures or perspectives on the Edinburgh MBA. The stated purpose is to support candidates who meet the programme’s diversity and impact expectations.

The scholarship is aimed at “all offer holders” for the Online MBA. It applies to applicants who have an offer for the Online MBA and who meet the scholarship criteria related to contributing to and enriching all aspects of the Online MBA.

Selection criteria include having sound academic and excellent work experience credentials, showing potential to contribute to and enrich all aspects of the Online MBA, demonstrating experience building supportive, inclusive environments or a culture of belonging, and explaining how knowledge gained will enable continued impact as a leader with inclusivity and responsibility.

The scholarship is paid directly toward tuition fees in two equal instalments, one in year 1 and one in year 2. Scholarships must be accepted by the deadline in the scholarship award letter, and forfeiture occurs if the required programme deposit is not accepted and paid within the given time frame. The Business School may re-allocate the scholarship, and the scholarship is automatically withdrawn if the programme offer is declined or programme letter conditions are not met. Recipients are expected to participate occasionally as an ambassador for the Business School during and after the programme.

• Must hold an offer for the Online MBA.
• Must enhance the diversity of cultures or perspectives on the Edinburgh MBA.
• Applicants must have sound academic and excellent work experience credentials.
• Applicants must demonstrate potential to contribute to and enrich all aspects of the Online MBA.
• Applicants must demonstrate how they have provided a supportive, inclusive environment and/or built a culture of belonging by actively inviting contributions and participation of all people (for example in projects, group work, events, and so on).
• Applicants must explain how they will use knowledge gained from the Online MBA to continue to have an impact as a leader, especially in terms of inclusivity and responsibility.
• Eligibility to apply starts once the applicant has received an offer (conditional or unconditional) for the Online MBA and has either firmly accepted the offer or is intending to do so.
• Not eligible if fully sponsored by an employer.
• Not eligible if in receipt of a full scholarship.
• Not eligible if they have already accepted another scholarship from the University of Edinburgh.
• Not eligible if they submit a scholarship application prior to having secured an offer for the study programme.

• Awards of £2,500 - £10,000.
• Scholarship paid directly toward tuition fees in two equal instalments: one in year 1 and one in year 2.

1. Following receipt of an offer of a place on the Online MBA programme, submit an application via the webform.
2. Submit the application by the application deadline for the relevant cohort (September 2026 start): 17 August 2026.
3. After the scholarship decision, accept the scholarship by the deadline defined in the scholarship award letter.
