Rhodes Scholarships at University of Oxford UK (International Students)

The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully-funded postgraduate award that enables talented people from around the world to study full-time at the University of Oxford. The Rhodes Trust states the purpose is developing public-spirited leaders and promoting international understanding and peace through an international community of Scholars.

The award is for applicants from around the world who want to undertake full-time postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. Rhodes Scholars can apply to study most full-time postgraduate courses in almost any field offered by Oxford University.

The Rhodes Scholarship is merit-based. The Rhodes Trust describes selection as being guided by selection criteria that have determined the first Rhodes Scholars and continue to guide selection.

Support is described as a period of study of at least two, and the detailed Conditions of Tenure explain permitted degree combinations and how many years of study are covered, depending on course choice. An example given is that up to three of fees and stipend is available for Scholars who choose to undertake a DPhil at Oxford. After selection, the Rhodes Trust also covers application fee, student visa fee and IHS, flights, and a settling in allowance, plus assistance related to visa renewal and IHS for a second course.

• The stipend is used to pay all living expenses, including accommodation
