Teesside University Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship

The Vice-Chancellor Scholarship recognises applications from outstanding students who can demonstrate skills and commitment to becoming future global leaders. The University of Teesside provides up to 30 Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships, each worth £7,000, allocated as a fee waiver in the first year of study. It is designed for international students enrolling in September for the first time at Teesside University.

The scholarship is for applicants intending to study an undergraduate degree or a postgraduate taught degree. It is for students who are genuine applicants to an international fee-paying undergraduate programme at Teesside University (including Level 0) or postgraduate programme. Applicants enrolling on Level 3 (Foundation) and Level 8 (e.g. DBA and PhD) are not eligible.

Applications require a personal statement of no more than 500 words showing outstanding personal and academic attributes, commitment to becoming a future global leader, and how the Teesside University degree will be used to achieve future ambitions. Awards are made at the discretion of the International Scholarships Committee, which may consider financial background, prior academic performance, and other information provided in the application or at any subsequent interview.

Successful recipients receive a fee waiver allocated in the first year of study. Recipients are required to act as an ambassador for the University for the duration of their studies, including activities such as representing Teesside University at Open Days, contributing to marketing and promotional materials, participating in international student events, acting as a mentor to fellow students, and contributing to or creating a blog or vlog. Recipients are also required to continue to engage with the University as a valued member of global alumni.

• Be a genuine applicant intending to study an international fee-paying undergraduate programme at Teesside University (including Level 0) or postgraduate programme.
• Enroll on a course where Level 3 (Foundation) and Level 8 (e.g. DBA and PhD) are not eligible.
• Be enrolling in September for the first time at Teesside University.
• Be an international fee payer at Teesside University.
• Study on-campus in Middlesbrough or Darlington (Teesside University Online and Teesside University courses outside the UK are excluded).
• Have paid the deposit amount as stated on your offer letter.
• Have made your conditional offer firm by accepting it.
• The Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship may not be used in conjunction with any other Teesside University Scholarship or Alumni Scholarship.

• £7,000 fee waiver allocated in the first year of study.

1. Submit a personal statement of no more than 500 words demonstrating: outstanding personal and academic attributes, commitment to becoming a future global leader, and how you will use your Teesside University degree to achieve future ambitions.
2. After submission, the Scholarship committee reviews all applications.
3. Successful recipients are notified by email with a scholarship offer.
4. If you are unsuccessful on this occasion you will not be contacted with a scholarship offer.
5. Applications for the Vice-Chancellor's scholarship are now closed.
