UK Government OIT Fellowship

The Open Innovation Team (OIT) invites applications for its Policy Fellowship, described as an academic mentoring scheme for UK-based public officials. OIT is a cross-government unit that works with experts to generate analysis and ideas for policy, and the Fellowship is a bespoke, flexible, part-time mentoring programme intended to support officials with help and expert insight to answer a specific policy question.

The Fellowship lasts six months and involves civil servants and public officials at SEO-G6 (or equivalent) grades working under the supervision of an academic mentor in a relevant field. Mentors are drawn from OIT partner institutions including Brunel University London, the University of Essex, Lancaster University, the University of Surrey, and the University of York. The programme includes research topics such as education, health & social care, AI and digital, environment and sustainability, government, and business, work and employment.
