UK University of Surrey International Excellence Award Scholarship

The University of Surrey International Excellence Award (postgraduate) is a £5,000 award that recognizes academic excellence. The amount is awarded as a £5,000 fee waiver and is for selected students starting a masters degree at Surrey.

The award is for international students who are self-funded international fee-paying students. It applies to those holding an offer to study a full-time masters programme at Surrey, and it is available regardless of nationality or domicile, excluding applicants from the Surrey International Study Centre (SISC).

The scheme is application based and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel. Applications are reviewed monthly, and scholarships are allocated on a first come, first served basis. All scholarships must be allocated before a CAS is issued, and applications cannot be considered if a CAS has already been allocated.

The award is a £5,000 fee waiver. For two-year postgraduate courses, the scholarship award is valid for the first year only. The award is not deferrable; if applicants defer, they must reapply, subject to award availability. The scholarship cannot be combined with the alumni or early bird discount.

• Be an overseas fee-paying student.
• Hold an offer to study a full-time masters programme.
• Be self-funded (paying for studies independently rather than being sponsored or in receipt of another scholarship).
• Not be from the Surrey International Study Centre (SISC).
• Apply for the scholarship before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued (the award cannot be applied post CAS).
• Must exclude part-time and distance-learning courses.
• Must exclude MSc Artificial Intelligence (Conversion).
• Must exclude MSc Biotechnology.
• Must exclude MSc Food Science.
• Must exclude MSc Human Nutrition.
• Must exclude the MBA course.
• Must exclude MSc Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• For two-year postgraduate courses, the scholarship is valid for the first year only.
• The award is not deferrable (deferring requires reapplication, subject to award availability).
• This scholarship cannot be combined with the alumni or early bird discount.
• Applicants must have a valid student ID and an offer to complete the scholarship application form; applications without these will not be assessed.

1. Ensure you have an offer from the University to complete the scholarship application form.
2. Complete the scholarship application form and include a valid student ID and your offer (applications without a valid student ID and offer will not be assessed).
3. Finalise the scholarship application before a CAS is issued (the scholarship cannot be applied post CAS, and awards are not allocated if a CAS has already been allocated).
4. Submit your application because applications are reviewed monthly and awards are allocated on a first come, first served basis (apply early).
