University of Northampton - Master's Scholarships

The University of Northampton describes its International Scholarship Scheme as a merit-based award for international and EU-domiciled students. It is intended to provide financial support to applicants with strong academic achievement.

The scholarship applies to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses delivered on campus at the University of Northampton. For the postgraduate level, it covers full-time taught programmes such as MA, MSc, LLM and MBA, as long as the applicant is studying at UON and is assessed as an overseas fee payer.

Selection is based on the merit of each application and academic eligibility. Applicants do not submit a separate scholarship form, and the award decision is included in the offer letter. The university says awards are made automatically to students who qualify, with no limit on the number of awards.

The award is applied as an annual tuition fee reduction of £2,000, £3,000 or up to £4,000 for each year of study, excluding placement years, and it is paid only if the student progresses to the next year. For Nursing programmes, the maximum is £2,000 per academic year. If a student changes to another qualifying programme, the scholarship can continue, but only for the original programme length if the new course adds an extra year. If a student repeats, resits out of residence, defers, withdraws or restarts, the award is withdrawn or does not continue as set out in the terms. A student must pay £7,000 of first-year tuition before a CAS is issued and then pay the remaining fees in two instalments, minus discounts and scholarships.

• Must hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme at the University of Northampton.
• For postgraduate study, the programme must be a taught course such as MA, MSc, LLM or MBA.
• Must have been assessed as an overseas fee payer.
• UK and EU nationals who are eligible for a maintenance loan from Student Finance England do not qualify.
• Students on a course validated by the University at a partner institution do not qualify.

• Annual reduction in tuition fees of £2,000, £3,000 or up to £4,000 per academic year.
• The reduction is payable in each year of the programme, subject to progression to the next year.
• For Nursing programmes, the maximum scholarship is £2,000 per academic year.
