University of Portsmouth MA Applied Linguistics and TESOL Scholarship

• Eligible applicants: UK, EU, and International students.Undergraduate qualification (UK qualifications): a second-class honours degree or equivalent; applicants should get in touch if their undergraduate subject is not relevant to the degree.Equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications may be considered, including previous study, employment, voluntary work, and training courses, including courses and qualifications not completed (Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) referenced).Undergraduate qualification (non-UK qualifications): applicants with a non-UK degree need to show they meet the UK entry requirements listed for the degree.Required experience: initial teacher training and a minimum of three months full-time, relevant, teaching experience.If applicants do not have relevant teaching experience: they can still apply for the campus programme and study the Introduction to Teaching modules.English language proficiency: minimum IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent), with no component score below 6.5.English language exemption: no IELTS or equivalent certification is required if applicants have a UK degree, or a degree from a majority English speaking country (not taught by Distance Learning), or are a national of a majority English speaking country.Degrees taught solely in English from non-majority English speaking countries: considered on a case by case basis.If English language requirements are not met: applicants can achieve the level required by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme before the course starts.
