University of Sussex GREAT Scholarship

The GREAT Scholarships scheme is jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and the University of Sussex. The Sussex GREAT Scholarship Mexico offers a fee waiver as the type of award.

Eligibility is for applicants who are citizens of Mexico and have accomplished an undergraduate degree in Mexico. Candidates must have received and accepted an offer on an eligible Masters at Sussex, have excellent grades, and provide clear and specific goals with defined links to their course.

Applicants need to be prepared to attend networking events as part of the GREAT scholarships programme and share experiences and ambitions on how UK study can benefit their home country. Applications meeting the required criteria are referred to the scholarship panel for a decision after the deadline.

The scholarship is awarded as a fee reduction when you register in September and the scholarship information is added to the CAS for visa application. Applicants must be able to fund the remainder of their tuition fee and cover their living expenses for the duration of the course.

• £10,000 fee waiver (fee reduction when you register in September)

1. 1. Receive and accept an offer of a place on an eligible Masters at Sussex before applying for the scholarship.
2. 2. Provide a statement of academic interests.
3. 3. In your statement, include: your drive and ambition; your potential for positive impact when you return to your home country; and any relevant work experience, skills, or extra-curricular activity that relates to your ambitions and/or chosen course.
4. 4. Submit your application by the deadline so it can be referred to the scholarship panel for a decision after the deadline.
5. 5. Wait for contact from the Scholarships Office after the final decision has been made.
