University of Westminister UK Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship

The University of Westminster UK Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship supports students seeking asylum who are currently living in the United Kingdom. It provides a full tuition fee waiver and £1,000 per month for up to 12 months.

The scholarship is for postgraduate full-time taught master’s students with an offer from the University of Westminster for a place on a full-time master’s course starting in January.

To be eligible, applicants must fulfil all stated criteria, including UK residency and holding an eligible immigration status before submitting the application. Selection is based on meeting the scholarship’s listed eligibility criteria.

The scholarship provides support for up to 12 months, consisting of a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly payment of £1,000. The application instructions require a completed application form submitted with required evidence as PDF attachments.

• You must have an offer from the University of Westminster for a place on a full-time master’s course starting in January 2027
• You must be resident in the UK
• You must hold one of the following eligible immigration statuses before submitting your application: UK asylum seeker; UK discretionary leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application); UK limited leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application)
• Students who already have a master’s degree are not eligible to apply
• Students who are able to receive taught postgraduate student loans from Student Finance are not eligible to apply
• The following categories of students are not eligible: Postgraduate Diploma
• The following categories of students are not eligible: Professional courses (eg RIBA pt III, ACCA, CIMA, CiLEX)
• The following categories of students are not eligible: Conversion courses (eg Graduate Diploma in Law)
• The following categories of students are not eligible: Integrated Masters/MPhil/
• Students must fulfil all criteria below
