Warwick Doctoral Scholarships

Doctoral College PGR Scholarship Competitions are described as “central scholarships”. For Autumn entry, the Doctoral College offers Postgraduate Research Scholarships across several schemes. Applicants submit a single scholarship application and are automatically considered for all Doctoral College funding for which they are eligible.

The competitions include multiple schemes, including Warwick Doctoral College PGR Scholarships, Chancellors Scholarships (Faculty & Interdisciplinary), AHRC Doctoral Scholarships, Doctoral Access Scholarships (Sanctuary and Pathway), Monash-Warwick Alliance Joint Scholarships, and China Scholarship Council-Warwick Joint Scholarships. Eligible course types include PhD, MPhil/PhD, EngD, and entering the PhD stage of an MRes+PhD.

Selection is described through a single scholarship application, with outcomes communicated by email. For the China Scholarship Council-Warwick Joint Scholarships, applicants must also meet CSC eligibility requirements and are required to hold specific passport and residence status and meet offer/enrolment timing requirements set out by the scholarship.

All scholarships include full payment of academic fees, a maintenance stipend, and the opportunity to study full-time or part-time depending on visa status. Scholarships also include up to 40 days annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time), support to suspend studies temporarily, and access to additional support for disabled PGRs. Some schemes add specific allowances or grants. The page specifies scheme support lengths (for example, 3.5 or 4) and identifies leave support options, but does not describe obligations after completion.
