The Robert Gordon University: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

The Robert Gordon University is a public university in Aberdeen, Scotland, and it suits students who want a campus-based UK option with a wide range of bachelor’s subjects. It is one of two universities in the city, so it may appeal if you want a university setting in Aberdeen rather than a larger national hub.

  2. What you can study

The university lists 69 programmes at bachelor's degree level. Subject areas include Addiction & Recovery Counseling, Administration of Justice, African American Studies, Aircraft Maintenance Technology, Anthropology, Architecture, Art History, Asian American Studies, Audio Production & Post-Production, Automotive Technology, Biological Sciences, and Biotechnology.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the university’s admissions process and check the official website for entry requirements, document lists, deadlines, and any course-specific conditions. Because requirements can vary by programme, confirm what qualifications are accepted and whether there are any additional checks for your chosen subject.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a tuition fee range in the information available; confirm the current fee for your programme with its admissions office. Living costs in Aberdeen will still need to be budgeted separately, including accommodation, transport, food, and other daily expenses.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not stated, so confirm this on the official website before applying. If you are moving from abroad, also check visa steps, deadline timing, entry requirements for your country, and whether your programme has any extra admissions checks.

  6. How it compares

In the United Kingdom, there are 193 universities, and Robert Gordon University stands out as one of only two universities in Aberdeen. Its main practical difference is its city location and its bachelor's-level programme range, which makes it a focused option for students who want to study in Aberdeen rather than a larger university market elsewhere in the country.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
