Accounting BBA

The Accounting BBA with an accounting concentration at Whitworth University focuses on the foundation of business through accounting. Students apply what they learn in the classroom to help real people and organizations. The curriculum includes study of taxation, financial accounting, business law, managerial and cost accounting, intermediate accounting, and auditing. Students also examine real-world ethical issues and connect decisions and outcomes to their faith or worldview.

Learning is supported by faculty mentors and classes that include industry professionals who provide advice. Students develop preparation for professional work through mock interviews with members of the local business community. The degree includes opportunities outside the classroom, including the service-learning program VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) for helping people with their taxes and conducting real audits through an auditing class. Students can also study abroad in places like China and Costa Rica.
