Ai in the Workplace Certificate

The University of West Florida offers an online AI in the Workplace Undergraduate Certificate focused on AI ethics and workplace uses of generative AI. Required coursework starts with PHI 4681 - Ethics of AI, and students choose two courses from IDS 4764 - AI Applied, ENC 4601 - AI Tools for Workplace Writing, GRA 4146 - AI for Creative Design, and COM 4381 - AI and Strategic Communication. The program supports students in critically evaluating ethical, legal, and social implications of AI technologies in workplace settings.

Students complete 9 credit hours. The course length is 8 weeks, with an estimated program length of 9 months. After completing the certificate, students are prepared for roles that produce public-facing or in-house content, including positions connected to social media, public relations, internal communications, graphic design, grant writing, and communications consulting.

To be considered for admission to the University of West Florida’s online AI in the Workplace Undergraduate Certificate program, you must be admitted to the University as an undergraduate non-degree-seeking student.

After being accepted as a non-degree seeking undergraduate student, prospective students for this certificate must contact the undergraduate advisor from the Department of English to start the Declaration of Certificate process before the drop/add period of the semester of completion. Students must also complete the online Undergraduate Certificate Declaration Form on MyUWF.

Program requirements: 9 credit hours and completion of the required courses with a grade of C or higher.
