Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene

The Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at Georgia Highlands College is a Bachelor of Science degree for registered dental hygienists who want to complete the RDH to BSDH Completion pathway. Students build knowledge related to dental practices, management, and public health.

The program is available 100% online with the exception of an internship course that can be completed in the student’s local community. It uses 8-week and 16-week courses in its online format, and the curriculum is supported by a recommended sequence of courses and required prerequisites.

Graduates can pursue work in private dental offices, schools, public health clinics, hospitals, managed care organizations, correctional institutions, nursing homes, dental or pharmaceutical or product sales companies, research organizations, educational institutions, and corporate environments.

• Students with an accredited associate degree in dental hygiene and who hold a license to practice dental hygiene in the United States, may be admitted to the RDH to BSDH Completion program.
• Students must already be a registered dental hygienist (RDH) with an associate degree or diploma from a CODA accredited dental hygiene program.
