Biology BA Uri

The Biology BA (Associate in Arts, URI) is a Biology Transfer program with foundational coursework in biology and chemistry, plus general education requirements. Students complete Introductory Biology: Organismal, Introductory Biology: Cellular, General Chemistry I, and General Chemistry II, along with communication, composition, history, humanities, literature, and social science electives.

Course requirements total 61 hours, with major requirements of 28 hours and general education requirements of 33 hours. The program may be completed at any campus, and it requires one or more courses to be completed online. It also may be completed fully online.

This program is a Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA) transfer program to the University of Rhode Island (URI). Students who complete a JAA plan receive an Associate’s degree and enter the receiving institution with 60 credits and Junior status, along with personalized advising and a tuition discount of up to 30% based on GPA.

The program includes JAA eligibility criteria: students must have earned less than 30 college credits at the time of joining and must not have attended any other college or university.
