The Biology Transfer, Biotechnology BS - Associate in Arts (URI) is a Joint Admissions Agreement program that prepares you for transfer to the University of Rhode Island or Rhode Island College. You complete general education requirements and major requirements that include BIOL 1300 Orientation to Biotechnology, BIOL 1310 Introduction to Biotechnology Laboratory Skills, BIOL 2480 General Microbiology, CHEM 1030 General Chemistry I, and CHEM 1100 General Chemistry II.
The program includes hands-on laboratory instruction through BIOL 1310 and covers related science and quantitative subjects. It follows a structured course list with a total of 62 hours, and it may be completed at the Knight (Warwick) Campus with one or more courses completed online. Students also take COMM 1010 Communication Fundamentals as a work-based learning course.
