Bs Ms Accounting

The Bs Ms Accounting at Towson University is an accelerated bachelor’s-master’s degree program that leads to a combined BS and MS pathway in Accounting and Business Advisory Services. Students take the graduate Accounting and Business Advisory Services (MS) portion while progressing through undergraduate requirements, using approved graduate courses in place of specific accounting and free electives within the Accounting major requirements.

Students apply at the same time they apply for admission to the Accounting major, then apply to the Accounting and Business Advisory Services (MS) program in the same semester they apply for graduation from the BS degree. Admission to the graduate portion is not guaranteed. Up to nine units of graduate-level courses can count toward both degrees, and a CPA license eligibility total of 150 units is required after passing the CPA exam.

• Be an accounting major with at least one term of residency at Towson University.
• Have an overall GPA of at least 3.00.
• Junior standing and at least one academic term completed at Towson University.
• Minimum GPA of 3.25 for the six CBE lower-level core courses: (ACCT 201 , ACCT 202 , ECON 201 (or ECON 203), ECON 202 (or ECON 204), ECON 205 (or MATH 231 or MATH 233), LEGL 225. Grade equivalent of 2.00 or higher in each lower level required course.
• Minimum GPA of 3.25 for at least three of the upper-level accounting screener courses required for admission to the major. Grade equivalent of 2.00 or higher in each screener course.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.00.
• During the second term of the senior year, the student must also complete a graduate application with the Admissions Office.

The specific requirements for admission to the major include completion of: ACCT 301 -- Intermediate Accounting I; ACCT 302 – Intermediate Accounting II; ACCT 341 -- Management Accounting I or ACCT 361 – Tax Accounting I.
