Bs Special Education General Curriculum K

The Bachelor of Science in Special Education: General Curriculum (K-12) prepares future teachers to work with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders and other learning, mental, emotional, or physical challenges. The curriculum includes both pedagogical knowledge and special education-specific content, with a focus on teaching children and youth who will likely complete North Carolina public school general curriculum requirements for career prep, college/tech prep, or college prep diploma.

Students engage with foundational and application-based learning materials and participate in field experiences under the supervision of an appropriately credentialed and experienced teacher. Digital competencies are developed to support instruction of content standards. Teacher candidates complete a student teaching internship under the supervision of a certified, experienced teacher.
