The Computer Science BA at St. Mary’s University is offered by the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering within the School of Science, Engineering and Technology. Students study programming languages including C, C++, Java, Python, and C#; analyze, design, code, and test software systems; and combine theory and practice to solve problems with computers.
Students develop software individually and in groups, and their work is evaluated by professors and industry experts. Coursework includes advanced classes such as AI and Machine Learning, Computer Networks, Cybersecurity, Databases, Game Development, Operating Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Software Engineering, and a Senior Project. Students also take the School of Science, Engineering and Technology Core and learn to communicate with technical and non-technical people.
