The Critical Social Justice and Solidarity BA at Prescott College is an interdisciplinary degree focused on studying social change. Students study theories and skills linked to social justice and solidarity movements, and they learn to critically analyze, research, collaborate, and participate in environmental, socioeconomic, and political justice work.
Learning is immersive and includes studies and practice in the field and community organizing work in partnership with organizations across Arizona and across the country. Students can keep their studies broad or focus on an available concentration, and they complete a senior project.
The degree leads to roles in labor and community organizing, social research, sustainable community development, journalism, and public policy and communications careers, as well as legal mitigation and international aid and development work. Graduates can also pursue further study in master’s, doctorate, or law school programs.
