Dnp Completion Community Based Public Health Focus

The MSN-DNP: Community-Based Public Health Focus prepares nurses to evaluate and interpret epidemiological, biostatistical, occupational, and environmental information to improve health for individuals and communities. It is designed to support advanced practice nursing roles and to strengthen healthcare systems through the application of evidence to systems-level issues.

The program includes post-master’s required courses with tracks that range from 30-32 credit hours, plus practicum hours centered on adding depth to a nurse’s area of practice. It is structured around core study topics and applied practice, including Applied Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Community Dimensions and Systems Development, and Advanced Clinical Practicum I with DNP Project I and DNP Project II.

• Admission to the University
• Current, active, unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse
• A master’s degree in nursing from a program accredited by CCNE or ACEN
• Graduate GPA of 3.25 or higher
• Two professional references
• A personally written essay of 500-750 words describing how the DNP will help achieve your life and career goals
• A current curriculum vitae/resume
• Verification of the number of supervised clinical hours from the director of the MSN program
• Interview with the admissions committee
