Doctor of Education: Educational Leadership (K-12 Supervision)

The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (K-12 Supervision) at the University of Mount Olive is a 60 credit hour program that prepares educational leaders for senior-level leadership positions in K-12 education environments. Students develop skills for cultivating school and district environments to support equitable and quality learning opportunities and continual program improvement. The program aims to align learning outcomes with North Carolina Standards for Superintendents.

Instruction is delivered in a hybrid model combining face-to-face and online learning experiences. A required internship takes place during the sixth semester for practical application and refinement of learned skills. Students can complete the doctoral degree in about three years, depending on time to complete the dissertation. The program uses a cohort structure with a cohort size of 15 max, with candidates selected each fall.

Admission requirements for the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) degree:

• Submit a completed online application
• Hold a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. or international institution in an education-related area

• Senior-level leadership positions in K-12 education environments
