Whitworth University offers a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program accredited by CAPTE. The program includes professional formation courses each semester that teach students how to look at issues such as social injustice and health inequity, and how to address them. Students also complete interprofessional learning experiences and community clinical partnerships.
The DPT program is an intensive, full-time PT program designed to be completed over eight consecutive semesters. Students begin hands-on clinical experience in their first semester and take part in community involvement, including work with Union Gospel Mission’s shelter for women and children. Facilities include an on-site teaching clinic and research space, a 12-camera motion capture lab, exercise physiology labs, simulation labs, and a cadaver lab.
