Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Dpm

The Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) at Western University of Health Sciences trains students to provide care for the whole person, including psychological, social, and cultural factors. The curriculum uses a scientific perspective and focuses on preparation for a surgical specialty, with medical foundation work that supports later podiatric practice.

Students are integrated with osteopathic student doctors during the first two years, with side-by-side learning together with people they will work with in the future. Instruction includes classroom work, research projects, skills labs, and clinical preparation that uses live standardized patient actors. Training also includes on-campus clinical opportunities at the WesternU Health Foot and Ankle Center and skills practice in advanced simulations.
