Economics BA

The Economics BA at Stephen F. Austin State University is a 120 credit-hours degree that focuses on core economic principles and analytical methods. Students study macroeconomics and microeconomics, plus technical skills in money and banking and applied statistics. The degree includes 12 hours of advanced economics electives, with options for 3000- or 4000-level courses aligned with student interests. Students may also add a minor of 18 to 24 hours.

The program includes four semesters of a foreign language to build cultural competency. It is part of the Nelson Rusche College of Business and is accredited by the AACSB. The degree is presented as an option that does not require the same core coursework as the BBA programs. The program positions graduates for graduate school, law school, or a Master of Business Administration program.
