The Social Science Transfer, Economics BA - Associate in Arts (URI) provides foundational knowledge of economic principles and prepares students to transfer to URI for a BA in Economics. The program includes work that supports quantitative literacy and critical thinking, along with an economics framework for addressing social issues and problems.
Students complete a total of 62 credit hours. The plan includes communication and general education requirements plus major courses such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, and Statistical Analysis I. The program may be completed at any campus, and it may be completed fully online; completing at the Liston (Providence) Campus or Newport County Campus requires taking one or more courses online.
This program is a Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA) transfer program to URI. Students who complete a JAA plan receive an Associate's degree and enter the receiving institution with 60 credits and Junior status.
