The Engineering Professional Undergraduate Certificate at the University of West Florida is an online certificate designed for engineering students completing the final year of their degree or for engineers early in their careers. The program focuses on fundamentals of mechanical engineering and provides a foundation for electrical and computer engineering opportunities. It also prepares students for professional exam requirements.
The certificate requires 9 credit hours and includes three certification exam preparation courses. Each course can be completed asynchronously online, with study at the time and place of the student’s choice. Students complete one required course from the Mechanical, or Electrical and Computer major options, and choose two additional courses from the available list.
By completing the certificate, students are able to prepare for the Certified Solidworks Professional Exam and achieve a passing score for the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. The program also supports preparation for an elective engineering certification of the student’s choice and addresses industry needs for electrical and computer engineering.
