English BA

The English B.A. at Whitworth College focuses on literature, writing, and/or teaching. Students also pursue electives or minors in areas such as editing and publishing, film and visual narratives, composition and rhetoric, medieval and early modern studies, or teaching English to speakers of other languages.

The program includes teaching and mentoring, and it offers opportunities such as reader or assistant editor work for Rock & Sling, Whitworth’s national literary journal. During the senior year, majors work with a faculty mentor to assess their own work and refine professional documents while considering vocational and career pathways.
