About this program

Experimental Psychology is a Doctor of Philosophy program in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Idaho. Students examine human psychology and its role in human interaction, the workplace, consumer behavior, and related areas, while building research and writing skills through opportunities to participate in research studies on campus.

The program is research-driven and focuses on how users process information, make decisions, and interact with digital and physical systems. Students are encouraged to apply coursework knowledge through active participation in research across specialty areas such as human-computer interaction, simulation and virtual environments, driving and surface transportation, computer security, physiological indicators of stress and workload, and sound perception. The program is available with a Fall semester intake.
