The Fashion Journalism MA at Academy of Art University equips students with subject-area expertise to communicate the global fashion industry. Students develop a deep understanding of social media for journalism and fashion industry grounding, including how to situate fashion news and the business of fashion events into a larger context and evaluate fashion collections with a critical, well-informed eye.
Students learn to produce cross-platform stories for social, digital, mobile, and print media. The program is available online and on campus and includes major classes in visual storytelling, fundamentals of fashion journalism, developments and current debates, magazine print and digital media publishing, fashion research and reporting, mobile and social media journalism, fashion styling, fashion business marketing strategy, and professional practices and portfolio for fashion.
